About Me
Writing has been a passion since the fifth grade. It was a difficult time for me as a young child, but I found my voice and love of words through the encouragement of my compassionate teacher, Mrs. Barnes. Mrs. Barnes introduced me to a world of books and genres I could never have imagined, especially biographies. I had - and still have - a keen interest in learning about the lives of others throughout the world and centuries. Through this exploratory reading, I decided that I, too, wanted to write in a way that brings people closer together.
I've been told that I have the unique ability to take dense and potentially dry information and turn it into something relevant and relatable. I have so many interests and find life so interesting that I can write on just about any topic though my specialties are health and wellness, education, and careers. I thoroughly enjoy researching and blending it throughout my writing to instill confidence in my readers and credibility in my content. Though my writing is SEO-driven, I always keep audience needs and expectations front of mind.
I hold a BA in Communications, Advocacy, and Relational Communications and a certificate in conflict resolution from Marylhurst University in Marylhurst, Oregon.
Aside from reading and writing, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, anything British, animals, and making homemade pizza!
“You should write because you love the shape of stories and sentences and creation of different words on a page. Writing comes from reading, and reading is the finest teacher of how to write.”
